A Cold front will pass this afternoon bringing an end to the showers, but more chances ahead.

A dreary morning has hit D.C. but at least temperatures are mild. Changes are on the way and the rest of the week will be cooler with a few chances of rain and snow.  Nothing major down the pike, though.  Today we have a cold front that will be passing through the eastern seabord.

Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

This afternoon the light rain showers will begin to diminish.  Skies may even break up a bit late.  The next system, an Alberta Clipper, arrives tomorrow already. What is an Alberta Clipper? Check it out in my blog here.  It won't bring much moisture. There is a 30% chance of rain showers late and then snow on the back side.  At best, an inch is possible in the mountains but I don't expect anything to collect in the city.  Temperatures will be about 10 degrees colder on Wednesday.  A second, stronger clipper will arrive late Friday. It will bring a chance of snow showers Friday night and a more dramatic drop in the temperatures. Highs only in the mid 30s this weekend.
