Washington, D.C. weather forecast: mild Monday tease, colder air by end of week

A starry night will give way to increasing clouds Monday and a chance for wintry weather midweek.

Overnight:
Mainly Clear and Cool
Lows: 32°-38°
Wind: West 3-8 mph
Monday:
Increasing PM Clouds, Breezy
Highs: 52°-58°
Wind: Southwest 10-20 mph
Tuesday:
Showers Possible
Highs: lower 50s
Wind: Southwest 5-10 mph

An area of high pressure will continue to bring quiet and dry conditions overnight. Lows will eventually fall to the 30s under mainly clear skies. Look for increasing clouds Monday afternoon along with southerly winds. Highs will rebound to the middle 50s.

Skies turn cloudy Monday night and chances for showers will increase. Tuesday will start mild, but temperatures are anticipated to fall during the day as a cold front passes overhead. Wednesday may bring a chance for rain and snow for parts of the mid-Atlantic.

Highs will only be in the 30s by the end of the upcoming week.
