Temperatures look to stay above average over the next few days and thunderstorms may return to the region Friday morning.

Overnight:
Mainly Clear, Chilly with Patchy Fog
Lows: 28-35
Wind: NW 2-5 m.p.h.
Thursday:
Mostly Cloudy and Mild
Highs: Low 50s
Wind: SE 5-10 m.p.h.
Friday:
Morning Showers or Storms, Then Partly Cloudy, Warm
Highs: Low 60s
Wind: SW to NW 10-20 m.p.h.

High pressure will provide clear skies and light winds tonight. But that combined with cold, wet and snow-covered ground may lead to areas of fog. A warm front approaching from the southwest tomorrow will cause increasing cloudiness throughout the day. High temperatures are a tough call. Areas north and east of the front may stay in the 40s while areas south and west of the front may climb into the upper 50s. Our forecast high temperatures for the metro area represent an average between the two areas described.

A cold front will generate a few showers tomorrow night into Friday morning. Temperatures will slowly rise overnight tomorrow through Friday morning. When the cold front crosses our area later Friday morning, isolated thunderstorms could develop. Skies will clear later Friday afternoon. The weekend looks to be partly sunny and mild.
