WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT

The winter storm is slowly developing but will not intensify until later tomorrow night..Snow will begin early tomorrow evening. As the storm moves up the East Coast it will bring a lot of moisture in from the Atlantic Ocean. It will also bring some warmer air along with it. The biggest challenge we have is trying to figure out total snowfall because of that warm air intrusion.

But based on latest guidance we believe the Washington Metroploitan area will likely see between 4 and 9 inches of snow. Areas farther west and north may see between 7 to 12 inches of snow. Areas south and southeast of Washington may see closer to 4 inches or even less IF rain and sleet fall instead of snow.
