Well we are in the midst of the heavy snow…stay off the roads because it is dangerous! It began before midnight and continues to come down hard out there with the heaviest of bands wrapping up after sun up. Currently the snow is mixing with rain and sleet east of DC with some rain into southern Maryland but this line will move west this morning into Fairfax and Montgomery. Meanwhile areas west of DC will remain snow throughout but I will decrease in intensity. In fact we could have a few dry hours this afternoon. As the storm pulls away later in the day it could bring some additional snow back into area before wrapping up. The bull’s eye for this storm looks to be the Piedmont and Blue Ridge. Winds will gust and it will be blustery cold Winds shift southwesterly by tomorrow with milder air returning us to near 40º. Be safe and stay off the road if you can and enjoy the day.
