While our mild streak of temperatures continue, we do have a threat of showers and thunderstorms arriving for Friday. High pressure will weakly control our weather today with an approaching warm front to allow clouds to thicken up this afternoon. A sprinkle can't be ruled out, mainly tonight. But, the significant weather comes mid-morning through midday on Friday.
The Storm Prediction Center has put us in the slight risk category for severe weather Friday. While I expect showers and some storms, I think just a few could produce damaging winds. The most likely window for this to happen is between 9a and 1p in D.C. and points south and east. Temperatures will be warmest in the morning on Friday, around 60. It will become breezy and cooler with clearing skies in the afternoon. After the front passes, it will make way for a pleasant weekend. Highs in the mid 50s to around 60 with sunshine a just a few clouds. Much cooler weather returns next week.
