A brief break from the snow this afternoon, but another round starts before dawn.

This Afternoon:
Partly to Mostly Cloudy
Highs: Near 40
Wind: W 4-8
Tonight:
Cloudy with Snow Late
Lows: Upper 20s
Wind: WNW 2-6
Wednesday:
A.M. Snow, then Clearing and Breezy
Highs: Upper 30s
Snow: Less than 1"

A weak upper air disturbance will keep snow showers in the forecast until early afternoon.  There was just enough in Alexandria, VA to stick on the deck at Russ Adams' house in the Del Ray Neighborhood. One to three inches has fallen across the area and a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 2pm.

There could be a few breaks in the clouds late this afternoon and early evening before we cloud up again as the next upper level disturbance approaches.  A second round of snow showers hits early Wednesday morning.  Most likely opportunity will hit between 4a and 9a, unfortunately along the same time as morning rush hour.  Some minor accumulation will be possible, but should stay under an inch all around. Getting breezy Wednesday afternoon with a wind chill in the teens and low 20s.  High pressure settles in the rest of the week, but the cold air remains. In fact, a push of arctic air arrives on Friday with highs only in the 30s.
