A light wintry mix is possible early Friday morning. Winter Weather Advisories now in effect for the entire Metro Washington area along with Charles, St. Mary's, Spotsylvania, Stafford and souther Fauquier Counties.

Overnight:
Mostly Cloudy, Patchy Freezing Rain, Wintry Mix
Temperatures: 20s
Wind: NNE 5-10 m.p.h.
Friday:
Early Wintry Mix...Then Cloudy, Rain Possible
Highs: Near 40
Wind: NE 10 m.p.h.
Saturday:
Partly Cloudy and Warmer
Highs: Mid 50s
Wind: SW 4-8 m.p.h.

Clouds will be increasing tonight as an area of low pressure makes a move northward along the Southeast Atlantic Coastline. The system will head out to sea later tomorrow. In the process, some light moisture in the form of rain, sleet or freezing rain may intrude into our area. The best chances will be from Washington southward..

In any case, the chance does exist for some light wintry stuff developing during the overnight and continuing into tomorrow morning. By mid- morning, temperatures should support only some areas of light rain. It will remain cloudy and cold otherwise. Warmer temperatures…highs in the middle 50s….will return with the sunshine on Saturday. A brief shower is possible early Sunday morning…then skies should turn partly sunny. By Monday, we will treated to partly cloudy skies with highs around 60 degrees.
