Skies are fair across the region this afternoon, but don't put the umbrella away quite yet. The second part of yesterday's cold front, although packing less of a punch, could bring a few showers later this afternoon and on into the early evening. Overall however, today will be a partly sunny, breezy, and warm day with highs in the low 70s and winds gusting from the northwest up to 25 mph. After a rather cool overnight in the 40s, Sunday will see a welcome return of high pressure and thus plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will be a bit cooler tomorrow with highs in the mid 60s and lighter winds.
After a partly sunny start on Monday, a warm front will approach the area and showers could begin to fall late in the day. They will be the start of a rather soggy and cool period that will last until late in the week. Daytime highs in the 50s and low 60s - well below the seasonal norm of 70 - and chances of rain are likely right through Thursday. Sunnier skies and milder air should return by Friday.
NOTE: While we have had the three warmest days of the year this month - three days in the 80s - 9 of the last 11 days have been cooler than normal, a trend that looks like it will last into early May. So spring continues it's rather reluctant roll-out! Enjoy your weekend.
