Expect partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies this afternoon with highs in the upper 50s. Tonight will continue to be mostly cloudy and cool with lows in the 30s in the outlying suburbs and lower to mid 40s in the immediate D.C. Metro.

The weekend ahead will experience improvements, with highs in the upper 60s each day. Saturday will feature a few clouds in the morning hours, especially south of D.C. as an area of low pressure skirts over the Carolinas. Sunday looks beautiful as high pressure takes control of the region. Plenty of sunshine is expected throughout the day.

Temperatures should move into the lower 70s Monday and Tuesday. The next chance for precipitation appears to be Tuesday afternoon and evening with the passage of a cold front.
