Starting out the work week on a wet note. The rain moved in this morning and it will stick around on and off through the day. This is part of a storm system that has brought torrential downpours in the deep south and a few tornadoes in Mississippi overnight.
Thankfully, the severe weather threat stays south of our region and the rain should only be enough to cause some spotty urban flooding. On average, expect 1/2"-1" of rain through Tuesday morning. Any lingering rain on Tuesday should be gone by sunrise and skies will gradually clear giving way to a partly cloudy and breezy afternoon. An upper level disturbance. Passes through on Wednesday, but I don't expect it to bring wet weather. Thursday may be the best of the bunch with sunshine and mild temperatures in the mid 60s. It's my pick day of the week to view the Cherry Blossoms. More in my blog on the peak blooms that are now just days away!
