After an exceptionally wet week with historic amounts of rain falling on Wednesday, it would seem we are due a rain-free pass for the weekend!  But while the forecast is for mostly drier days, Mother Nature might not let us stow the umbrella as securely as we'd like.  A low pressure center will pass through today, bringing partly sunny skies and some stray showers.  Even Sunday  won't let us keep our eyes off the sky as yet another chance of scattered showers is possible in the afternoon as a cold front approaches.  Still, both days will see temperatures in the upper 60s and lower to mid 70s, making for an otherwise pleasant first weekend in May.  Sunday will be the breezier and sunnier of the days, but both will feel indisputably like spring.  At last!

NOTE: After this past week's deluge, all three area airports are now posting significant rainfall surpluses: Reagan National's yearly total of 17.49 inches is 5.29" above average; BWI Marshall's 20.54" tops the average by 7.28"; and Dulles' 18.14" measures 5.62" above average.  Enjoy your mostly rain-free weekend!
