Another muggy day out there today but with more clouds! Temperatures will rise into the 60s/70s for daytime highs today around the D.C. area. Farther west, some sun could peek through, therefore locations that see a little more sunshine will be slightly warmer, possibly in the lower 80s. A few rain showers and thunderstorms can’t be ruled out during the afternoon and evening hours.
Overnight lows will fall back into the mid 60s once again with some fog and drizzle developing. Just a few more streaks of sunshine tomorrow with a southerly breeze (south at 10-20+ mph) will push temperatures into the lower 80s in most spots. Most of the day will remain dry however, a few showers and thunderstorms could move in during the afternoon hours – mainly to the west. As we head into the evening hours, a better chance for showers and storms will roll through the area. That threat will continue into the overnight hours and through at least the early afternoon on Friday. We will certainly have to watch the flooding potential from Thursday night into Friday. Rain should move out from the west to the east during the late afternoon and into the evening hours on Friday. Temperatures at that time will only rise into the upper 60s. By the weekend, high pressure settles in bringing sunshine. Temperatures hold in the lower 70s for the weekend and into early next week.
