What a day…we peaked at 87º downtown and 90s south of DC yesterday! A light southeasterly wind overnight has ushered in some clouds and patchy fog will linger into the early morning hours. Sun will peak through the diminishing cloud deck and the warm, more humid weather will stick around today. A few thunderstorms will build in the Potomac Highlands, but shouldn’t make it much past I-81. An approaching weak cold front will provide the impetus for a few showers and storms on Saturday. This could impact the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure downtown on the National Mall. This will be followed up by a dry and warm Mother’s Day and Monday to boot. The next threat of rain returns Tuesday and Wednesday as another cold front arrives from the west. Have a great day and a wonderful weekend!
