Drier conditions this afternoon, but another few showers possible late evening.

This Afternoon:
Rain Ending, Peeks of Sun
Highs: Near 70
Wind: NW 10-15
A few Showers, then Partly Cloudy
Lows: Low 50s
Wind: WNW 4-8
Partly Cloudy
Highs: Low 70s
Wind: WNW 5-10

It was a downright lousy morning all across the region and there is plenty of standing water lingering around. Flood warnings remain in place and here is a great link for you to check area river stages. Rain continues to exit the region this afternoon with partial clearing possible before the day is done. Anywhere from 1 to almost 5" has fallen with nearly 4" at Dulles airport and more than 2" at Reagan National. A second disturbance will swing through late this evening or early overnight to bring another few showers, but it will be light and not add to our flood concerns.

This Afternoon

A big reminder to avoid water covered roads and Turn Around, Don't Drown. Drier conditions are moving in for the weekend with high pressure at the surface, however in the upper levels of the atmosphere, a trough will influence our conditions into early next week. Therefore, i can't rule out a stray sprinkle over the weekend, but chances are very low and most of us will have pleasant conditions to clean up the mess with temps a bit cooler than average around 70 or so. The dry stretch lasts into the middle of next week.
