After a gorgeous Mother's Day, Mother Nature is turning up the heat and humidity to kick-start the new work week. High pressure off the southeast coast will pump in hotter temperatures and higher humidity for Monday and Tuesday. Similar to a summer-time weather pattern, a few showers and thunderstorm may develop in the afternoons both Monday and Tuesday. Highs will soar into the upper 80s to low 90s south of the District.
A weak front will bring an easterly wind component Wednesday. That will drop highs into the upper 70s. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms will still be possible. A slow moving cold front will trigger more widespread showers and thunderstorms Thursday through Friday mid-morning. Temperatures will also drop by week's end into the low 70s. Get the umbrella ready for the work week and enjoy the rest of your dry Sunday!
