Washington, D.C. weather forecast: Patchy fog overnight, cool temps and showers Thursday

After a couple warm and very humid days, cooler air and showers are back in the forecast.

Overnight:
Lingering Showers and Storms, Areas of Fog
Lows: 57°-64°
Wind: Northeast 5-10 mph
Thursday:
Cloudy, Scattered Showers and Drizzle
Highs: near 65°
Wind: Northeast 5-10 mph
Friday:
Gradual Afternoon Clearing
Highs: middle 70s
Wind: Northwest 5-10 mph

Showers and thunderstorms will dot radar this evening. Some will have to potential to become severe with brief heavy downpours, gusty winds and frequent lightning. Lows will be in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Skies will remain cloudy along with areas of patchy fog. Cooler air will filter in by morning as high pressure sets up to the northeast. Highs Thursday will only be in the middle 60s. Look for gradual clearing by Friday afternoon and highs in the middle 70s.

The weekend is looks great with plenty of sunshine, low humidity and temperatures in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees each day.
