Skies will stay mostly cloudy overnight with temperatures in the middle 50s in our northern and western suburbs to the lower 60s in the District. A few isolated showers are possible, but should not amount to much. Warmer and more humid air arrives Wednesday with an increased risk for showers and thunderstorms. Some storms will have the potential to bring brief downpours and frequent lighting, gusty winds and hail. Some storms may become severe.
A cold front will push across the mid-Atlantic late Wednesday and into Thursday bringing less humid conditions for the end of the week and into the upcoming extended holiday weekend.
