Washington, D.C. weather forecast: Soaring temperatures, more humid and isolated showers

After a somewhat cool start to 2014, the D.C. area will finally see temperatures well above average for this time of year.

Overnight:

Lows: 54°-60°
Wind: Southwest 4-8 mph
Thursday:
Partly Sunny, Isolated Thundershowers
Highs: 83°-88°
Wind: Southwest 5-10 mph
Friday:
Partly Cloudy, Stray Showers
Highs: 83°-88°
Wind: South 5-10 mph

 

A warm front will continue to push northward this evening and overnight allowing for a chance for a few showers. Patchy fog is likely to develop as temperatures fall to the middle 50s to around 60 degrees in the District. With the front well to our north on Thursday, highs will quickly rebound to the middle 80s with a chance for a pop-up shower or thunderstorm. Although chances are low, some storms may produce brief heavy downpours.

Warm temperatures and humidity will stick around Friday with highs in the middle to upper 80s. Chances for showers and spotty thunderstorms will continue into Mother's Day. Highs both Saturday and Sunday will be in the lower 80s.
