Overall, it's going to be pleasant this week in D.C. with a slightly cooler than average start to the week and a big warm up to end it.  A frontal boundary is stalled south of our region and a few disturbances will bring in chances for rain along the front tonight and then again on Wednesday.  Skies are sunny this morning, but clouds gradually increase through the day.  Despite a few clouds, the Ultra Violet Index will be HIGH.

Ultra Violet Index

Today is Melanoma Monday and we remind you to wear suncreen with UVA/UVB protection of SPF 15 or more.  You can get a sunburn and skin damage even with some cloud cover.  By late today, skies should become mostly cloudy. Rain chances are best south and west of D.C.  but all of us have a 40% chance of getting wet this evening and overnight.  A brief shower or sprinkle is possible before 8a.m. on Tuesday, then skies clear out again.  The front will lift northward on Wednesday, bringing chances of showers back in the forecast and it will end up north of the region on Thursday. This will put us under the influence of high pressure Thursday and Friday and temperatures will soar into the 80s.
