Added heat and humidity today with some strong late day thunderstorms possible…

AM Shower North, Mix Clouds/Sun, Scat’d Strong to Severe PM Storms
Highs: Near 80º
Precipitation: 60% Chance
Lingering T’Showers
Lows: 55º-63º
Wind: SW/NW 5 mph
Partly Cloudy, Warm, Isolated Shower
Highs: Low 80s
Wind: WNW 10-15 mph

While a morning shower can’t be ruled out, especially north of town, the best shot for showers comes later today. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the metro area under a slight risk for severe weather this afternoon with gusty thunderstorms and an isolated tornado. Otherwise it will be warmer with added humidity and highs in the lower 80s. Tomorrow should be a bit calmer with continued warmth and only the slightest chance for a shower. A touch cooler air slides in for Friday with an extended stretch of pleasant weather into the holiday weekend. Expect partly to mostly sunny skies with slowly moderating temperatures leading into Memorial Day!

**May Camelopardalids-sounds like like a reason to see the doctor but actually it could be quite the celestial delight.  Check out Jacqui Jeras' latest blog!
