Look for a pleasantly warm Father's Day with plenty of sunshine, comfortable humidity, and highs in the low 80s.  Our fortunes reverse this coming week however with plenty of summertime sizzle.

This Afternoon:
Sunny & Warm, Still Low Humidity
Highs: 81-85
Wind: N 5 mph
Tonight:
Mostly Clear & Mild
Lows: 57-65
Wind: Light S
Sunday:
Sunny & Hot, Higher Humidity
Highs: 87-91
Wind: S 5-10 mph

Mother Nature couldn't have given a nicer gift to fathers on this Dad's Day as yet more sunshine and continued low humidity are in the forecast!  Yesterday's high temperatures stayed in the 70s across the region, making for the coolest day since June 1st when the mercury topped out at 77.  With dew points falling to the low 50s, Saturday's blue skies were that much bluer as humidity's familiar haze disappeared.

The high pressure responsible for that lovely day will stay in place through this afternoon before gradually moving off to the east.  A return flow from the south will begin on Monday, ushering in increasingly hotter and and more humid conditions.  A summer heat wave will scorch us all week long with Monday's high near 90 being the first of what will likely be a string of 90 plus days with dew points in the mid to upper 60s.  It will be time indeed to turn the air conditioner back on as the sultry air will lead to heat indices in the mid to upper 90s.  The possibility of thunderstorms each day offers the hope of some relief, if only temporary.  So kick back and enjoy this comfortable Father's Day before the steam heat gets here next week!
