Oh, what a beautiful morning!  After a week of being under a wet blanket of humidity and enduring day after day of torrential downpours, drier air and sunnier skies are arriving for the weekend.  A cold front passed through earlier this morning with dramatic effect: high pressure returned;  winds shifted to the northwest; and dew points dropped  from near 70 to just 60 and likely the upper 40s by this afternoon.  With those northwesterly winds gusting up to 20 mph, it will be a refreshing start to the weekend.  Under partly to mostly sunny skies, look for high temperatures this afternoon in the upper 70s.

That same high pressure will remain overhead on Sunday and will guarantee yet another pleasant, if slightly warmer and less breezy day.  Highs on Sunday should climb into the lower 80s and the winds will shift to the south by afternoon as the high begins to move east.  Humidity levels however, will remain quite comfortable.  And then, just as has happened for the past four weeks, a delightful weekend will be followed by increasingly warmer and more humid days.  Monday will still be sunny, but temperatures will rise to the mid 80s and dew points will start to climb as well.  Thereafter, the hottest readings of the season are expected at midweek with highs in the low 90s and the "humidity holiday" coming to an end.  Enjoy this splendidly summery Saturday!
