From sunrise to sunset yesterday, the marvel of a perfect day played out with just the right combination of sunshine, cool breezes, and comfortable temperatures.  And today, the first day of the new month, is turning into an encore performance with highs again around 80, lots of sun, low humidity, and light southerly winds.  Perhaps days like these are what motivated poet James Russell Lowell to pen, "and what is so rare as a day in June?"  On this, the first day of  June and meteorological summer, we can enjoy the benefits of a much anticipated season if not its dangers: yes, hurricane season starts today as well.

Temperatures will start to climb a bit tomorrow as will humidity levels as high pressure moves to our south.  A front arriving on Tuesday and then stalling  will set up a much warmer flow of air at midweek.  Look for hotter, muggier days through the end of the week with a chance of showers and thunderstorms each day; the greatest chance for severe weather looks to be Wednesday and Thursday. Enjoy this spectacular Sunday!
