For the third weekend in a row, Mother Nature's timing is perfect! With the prospect of yet another pair of days that is mostly sunny and seasonably warm, this spring continues to be a season to savor. And while today will be the more comfortable of the two days, both will feature temperatures in the 80s. With high pressure overhead and light winds from the north, today will provide abundant sun along with a few cumulus clouds from a system to our north. Dew points in the 50s will translate into low humidity, another bonus that we've enjoyed these past three weekends.
As the high pressure center drifts to our east tomorrow, winds will shift to the south and dew points will start to climb. Mostly sunny skies will still prevail, but you'll notice an increase in humidity as the day progresses. Temperatures will again be in the mid 80s. A cold front will advance in the afternoon, bringing the prospect of some showers and thunderstorms late in the day. That same front is expected to stall out to our south, leading a period of unsettled weather through much of next week.
NOTE: The summer solstice, the official astronomical start to summer, arrives June 21. That longest day of the year with its 14 hours, 53 minutes, and 54 seconds of daylight marks the longest day of the year. Thereafter, the days start to shorten, albeit by just a few seconds. Still, on the day it begins, summer almost imperceptibly starts to wane. Enjoy your weekend!
