Remember a few months ago when it was cold, make that super cold? Fast forward and here we are – prepping for what will likely be the hottest week this year. Hot and humid air will continue to build across the mid-Atlantic and won’t break until a cold front approaches the area on Thursday.

At this point, the front does not appear to be particularly strong and model guidance suggests it will not “sweep” the hot and humid conditions out of the area. The front may stall or only move very slowly Friday and through this upcoming weekend. This means there will be daily chances of showers and thunderstorms with the highest chances late Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will remain above average into the weekend.
