High pressure aloft will keep us hot and sticky today. After yesterday's record of 97 degrees, we are on pace to challenge a record again today.
An approaching cold front will trigger some isolated thunderstorms late today, mainly north of D.C. Anything that develops may produce damaging winds and hail. The front will stall around the Mid-Atlantic states through the weekend and bring more frequent chances of storms. Thursday and Saturday look most likely to get wet. The wetter weather along with a few more clouds will bring the temperatures down a bit. We should lose about 10 degrees between today and your Saturday.
