Washington, D.C. weather forecast: Slight risk for showers Friday, optimistic for nice weekend

Skies will be partly cloudy overnight with temperatures in the middle 60s and lower 70s. As high pressure moves to the east of our area Friday afternoon, an isolated shower or thunderstorm will be possible. Chances are limited about 30 percent. Looking ahead to the weekend, skies will be partly cloudy and temperatures will reach the middle 80s.

Most of the weekend will be rain-free, if any showers or thunderstorms form, they will be over the mountains well west District. Daily chances for showers and thunderstorms will increase on Monday as temperatures and dew points begin to rise once again. Highs will reach the lower 90s by Tuesday and Wednesday.
