It continues to be a "pinch yourself" kind of weekend.  In a city where the 4th of July is synonymous with perspiring masses on the Mall hoping that thunderstorms don't spoil the fireworks, we are about to finish our most patriotic of holidays with yet another sunny, comfortable and dry day.  Starting with Friday's perfection, it's been a triumphant trifecta of beautiful days.  Other than some morning clouds, today is yet another mostly sunny day with high temperatures aiming for mid to upper 80s, dew points in the still comfortable 50s, and little chance of rain.

But even as we enjoy this summer comfort, changes are afoot.  As our high pressure benefactor drifts slowly to the east, southerly winds will herald a gradual increase in our humidity and temperature.  After a rather warm evening, tomorrow, will see the mercury shoot into the low to mid 90s.  Dew points will start to creep up as well with readings in the sultry 60s here by Tuesday.  A cold front passing through on Wednesday could set off some strong thunderstorms on what will be yet another very hot day.  With a Bermuda high in place and the front stalled to our south, the chances of showers and thunderstorms will be with us from midweek on. Temperatures are likely to be a bit cooler however from Thursday through Saturday, but still in the upper 80s.  Enjoy this wonderful end to a wondrous weekend!
