A brief reprieve for the high humidity and widespread storms…

Patchy Fog, Partly to Mostly Sunny, Touch Less Humid
Highs: 82°-88°
Precipitation: 20% Chance PM Shower
Partly Sunny, Pleasant & Seasonable
Highs: Upper 80s
Wind: S 5-10 mph
Partly Sunny, Hot & Humid, Few PM Storms (Esp. West)
Highs: Low 90s
Rain: 30% Chance (Especially West)

A stubborn cold front that produced heavy thunderstorms and flash flooding last night is slowly sliding southeastward. The threat of flash flooding and heavy rainfall has come to an end, thankfully, and the trend will be for drier weather and improvement for the end of the week. High pressure will push in from the north, setting the stage for better conditions under a partly to mostly sunny sky with highs in the middle 80s. Humidity will drop a touch and it will feel better. Only the most isolated of storms is possible later today. The dry weather will continue Saturday with sunshine and seasonable temperatures. By Sunday, however, southerly winds will bring a return of heat and humidity as the mercury soars to near 90. Along with the uncomfortable weather will also come the chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening, especially in the far northern and western suburbs. Have a great weekend.
