Text size Decrease Increase

A few light showers this morning, but afternoon thunderstorms are expected.

This Afternoon:
Partly Sunny with thunderstorms
Highs: Near 90
Precipitation: 40%
Tonight:
Evening Storms Possible, then Mostly Cloudy
Lows: Low 70s
Wind: N 4-8
Thursday:
Partly Sunny, Isolated T-Storm
Highs: Mid-Upper 80s
Precipitation: 25%

A few light showers litter the region this morning, but all of it not amounting to much.  An upper trough and surface cold front will trigger showers and a few thunderstorms this afternoon.  We don't expect the widespread damaging winds like last evening, but a stray storm could produce winds in excess of 60mph, most likely along or east of I-95.

This Afternoon

The cold front will pass the metro tonight and usher in cooler, less humid conditions, but it will likely stall and remain close enough to Southern Maryland to keep a chance of rain in the forecast Thursday afternoon.  Friday and Saturday should be pleasant with slightly below average temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.  Storm chances return Sunday and early next week.
