It's hard to believe it's mid July!  This is our climatological hottest time of the year and temperatures remain well below average.  I can't say I've heard too many people complaining, though.  High pressure overhead is bringing in an easterly wind flow that is bringing in enough added moisture to keep us rather cloudy.  The clouds have also kept high temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s.  Our average high this time of year is 89°.   A few showers will remain possible through the night over the Potomac Highlands, but the rest of the area should remain dry.  This same weather pattern will be in place tomorrow and will keep skies rather cloudy with an isolated sprinkle possible.

The work week starts off like the weekend weather, but the heat and humidity build by Tuesday, as more sunshine returns.  An isolated thunderstorm is possible both Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon, but more widely scattered storms will roll through Thursday with a cold front.  Sunshine and lower humidity returns by Friday.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
