High pressure will remain the dominating weather force overnight and into the upcoming weekend. Overnight lows will range from the upper 50s in the mountains to middle 60s in the District. As the area of high pressure moves off the coast, winds will shift direction allowing for slightly humid air to overspread the mid-Atlantic. Highs Saturday and Sunday will be in the lower to middle 80s with a mix of sun and clouds. A few showers and thunderstorms may develop in the mountains.

Thunderstorm chances will increase slightly next week, along with added heat and humidity. Highs will return to a more “normal” range in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees.
