Under mainly clear skies overnight, temperatures will fall to the upper 60s in our northern and western suburbs to middle 70s in the District. Thanks to a sprawling area of high pressure, hotter temps will return to the forecast tomorrow. Scattered thunderstorms may develop Tuesday afternoon as temperatures soar into the middle 90s. Heat index values will be in the upper 90s to near 100 degrees. Thunderstorm chances will increase on Wednesday as a cold front heads our way.

Daytime temperatures will drop just a bit for the end of the work and camp week – highs will be in the upper 80s with lows near 70 degrees.
