Our patriotic holiday weekend is coming to an end and so is the delightful stretch of weather we've enjoyed. As many of us get back into the swing of the work week this week, the weather will turn more typical of July in D.C.  High pressure anchored offshore will continue to pump in southerly winds, which will warm temperatures into the lower 90s early this week, as well as kick up the humidity.

A slow moving cold front will approach from the west and will trigger isolated thunderstorms late Tuesday.  The greatest risk for storms, and possibly severe weather, is on Wednesday.  The front will then stall just to our east for the rest of the work week.  A few isolated storms are possible Thursday and Friday with the nearby front, but most areas will remain dry. Temperatures will also be a bit more comfortable, in the mid to upper 80s, to end the work week.
