Daily average high temperatures will climb steadily all month. The average high today is 62 degrees. By the end of the month, the average daily high temperature will climb to 71 degrees. Now that's Spring !

The average monthly rainfall is a little under 3 inches. Our forecast team expects rainfall this month to be near or only slightly below long term averages. Drought watches are being lowered in many parts of the mid-Atlantic. That is great news.

The more normal precipitation totals this winter coupled with steadily warming temperatures portend a robust pollen season. Right now tree pollen is the worst offender. Over the next 3 or 4 weeks ,the tree pollen count will rise steadily, followed closely by similar rises in grass pollen. Once again this year, I am happy to serve as a self-appointed poster boy for tree pollen allergies. You could sprinkle grass pollen on my breakfast cereal and I wouldn't even notice. But get me any where near tree pollen and my eyes and throat know it instantly. This too shall pass.
