For example today the first Tropical Depression materialized in the Atlantic just off the Mid-Atlantic coast. This system will have no impact on our local weather nor will it be a threat to land but is certainly a talking point in the world of weather . For those who enjoy tracking tropical systems you can CLICK HERE for the lastest cordinants and stats from the National Hurricane Center.
Its is possible that by later today this depression may become strong enough to be classified as a Tropical Storm and if that is the case it would receive the name Ana. If you would like to see a complete list of Atlantic storm names for 2009 and through the next five years CLICK HERE.
The same cold front that will push through our region tonight into early Friday will be responsible for steering this storm eastward in into the northern Atlantic where it will slowly loose strength and all tropical characteristics.
