Vortex 2 Team Chases Down A Tornado
posted by Chris Naille: Meteorologist

If you have been following my earlier Blog's I talked about the large scientific undertaking to study severe storms that produce tornadoes know as Vortex 2.  The large crew has been on the chase since May 10th and while they have observed several storms none of them produced a tornado.  That is, not until Friday June 5th when they intercepted a large wedge tornado.  If you missed the footage CLICK HERE.  Its to early to know exactly what can be learned from the information collected but it is sure to take us one step closer to understanding more about this powerful force of nature.
