Gas prices still climbing, top $4 in D.C., 6 states
Gasoline prices rose again Friday and are now averaging more than $4 in six states and D.C. Oil had its biggest gain in three weeks and natural gas prices also rose.

BP settles Gulf spill suits, expects $7.8B payout

More pain at the pump
The District has one of the highest gas prices in the country, on average of $4.02 a gallon. The national average is $3.81 a gallon. In Maryland it's $3.83 and Virginia $3.72.
