vanative, I agree! You live near the water, you take a chance on being affected by storms and any natural events resulting from storms; it comes with the territory. Why is this even considered a newsworthy story, other than being one more attempt by the media and government to keep the public in a constant state of fear and paranoia?

More of our tax $$$ spent on completely stupid "studies."

8,000 ways to spend people's money and not have to be responsible for the ways in which it is spent. Hold it, tax the rich even more. Then we can have more $$$.

Let nature take it's course and phase out low lying development. 16' above sea level is ridiculously low. I have no sympathy for anyone who lives that close to the ocean and that low.
