More climate change propaganda. The earth is on a normal cycle get over it and stop trying to cash in!. How about if add our breathing and animals breathing to this mix what a joke! Are we going to start regulating how much we breath? Oh by the way notice they said artist representation imagine that.
First it was "global cooling" in the 70's and 80's (we are all going to freeze to death!), then "acid rain," then when that didn't work "global warming," and when people realized that was a fraud, then it became "climate change." Now the climate change fanatics want us to believe that "climate change" causes extreme weather, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc., and that if you don't believe their religious propaganda, you are a "climate skeptic."
While I do believe the Earth does have cycles, much like a frost-free freezer, I cannot totally rule out that humans are affecting the Earth. Nature is a very balanced, complex set of processes and I think that we don't have enough knowledge as to what to look for to see the signs of change or the impacts of change. I don't think the change is as direct as pollution = hurricanes, earthquakes, but we are impacting change on our environment.... the butterfly effect.
Concerned Citizen and Gabe....you need to travel to Alaska and talk to the people who are witnessing glaciers receding, pack ice not forming (or staying a short time) or to small islands in the Pacific that are going under water because of rising sea levels. YOU two have been fed anti-global warming propaganda just as bad. Warmer seas and warmer seas for longer periods of time means more severe weather and more severe weather for a longer time each year. That's simple meteorological science right there.
Global warming is a completely natural process, and the past cold periods have killed many more people than the past warm periods. Warming and cooling cycles have likely been happening on a regularly every 1500 years for the last million years! The whole greenhouse theory has no evidence to support it, except a moderate warming turned into $$ making scare tactics with computer models whose results have never been verified with real world events. The models only reflect the warming, not the cause. The most recent period of global warming was between 1850 and 1940 , and probably not caused by man-made greenhouse gases. What about the great floods of the Nile going back 5000 years ago? Polar bears are not drowning, and the sea levels are NOT rising significantly. The variations in the Sun's radiation probably has much more influence on these cycles than humans.
Nobody disputes the cyclical nature of climate variations, and nobody is claiming that one day you'll turn on the tube and see the movie "The Day After Tomorrow" playing out in real time all over the globe. But, I only ask that you go get some information for yourself on rising sea levels and its effects on islands throughout the south pacific. The terms global warming and climate change only refer to the rapid changes in our climate we are witnessing (based on scientific data) and the rate at which these changes are occuring. Glaciers are retreating faster, CO2 levels are rising faster, seas are rising faster than in any time we've seen before. These rapid changes have led us to the conclusion that the changes we are seeing are due to man-made influences in the climate system. And you will never see anyone blame earthquakes on climate change. That's another global process (plate-tectonics) that has nothing to do with the Earth's climate.
John says "seas are rising faster than in any time we've seen before" hmm, think about it, the length of time we've been measuring these levels compared to how long the seas have been here burying the earth tide after tide and wave after wave. It's nothing! not a drop. I care about keeping nature pure as much as anyone but face it, this hysteria is the result of a huge farce.
Paaaleeeezzzeee. I only watched the first 23 seconds of this garbage before I stopped it and started to respond. The word "if" has no credibility whatsoever. You can "if" anything to fit any agenda. The "artistic rendition" is just that. Nothing more. Need everyone be reminded about the artistic rendition of the global warming hockey stick which was found to be a complete fraud???
