Boy you meteorologists are getting REALLY DESPERATE to predict snow! You've predicted it 2 or 3 times already and we've gotten zilch. It's not scientific, but I believe that God will decide if and when we get snow and so far He isn't saying. Why can't you just keep still and not start a grocery store panic like you always do. I'm sorry that the weather hasn't been interesting to talk about but either we'll get snow or we won't but quit trying to predict it 3 or 4 days in the future. It doesn't work.
It is NOT the meteorologists who start the panic, it's the members of the general public who don't ever plan ahead. Or maybe they live on fast food or carryout and don't bother to keep any food on hand, like many people I seem to know. We sometimes get a lot of snow in winter; we've had trouble from tropical storms and hurricanes in summer; if people need Doug or Bob or the man in the moon to tell them to use common sense and keep basic supplies on hand, they've got serious problems!!
I hate the panic for the grocery store I believe it is unnecessary in the washington Metro area. As for some of the outlining areas where a grocery store might be further away - ok go and stock up, but that's something you should do all the time (especially in winter) not knowing what will happen. Personally I hope we get some measurable snow this time.
Bob and Doug, you little rascals, stop teasing us snow lovers with headlines like that! I know after last summer, when you had an earthquake, a hurricane, and flooding from tropical storms to report, 3 weeks in a row, this winter has been dull, however! (smile) RE the store panic; I don't understand why people feel they HAVE to run to the store when they hear the word snow! I mean, am I the only person who keeps extra supplies on hand, if it's nothing more than a couple extra rolls of TP, extra canned food, pet food, etc? Even if it doesn't snow, if I get sick or something else happens where I can't get to the store, I'm not out of food! Snow Girl, I'm with you; I'd love at least ONE decent snowfall this winter; at LEAST snow that covers the ground!
