I agree lol. Anytime we get advised of a serious storm nothing happens to Northern Va. I won't believe it till I see Sandy head for the DC region, which won't happen. We'll get an inch of rain and that's about it.
You seem to know a lot more than the meteorologists, perhaps you're in the wrong line of work. However, your confidence may be greater than your knowledge. However this storm turns out in Northern VA is immaterial (how about the rest of the metro area by the way, or doesn't that matter to you?), you're irresponsible to have dismissed its potential.
I worked for the Weather Service, NOAA, years ago and you could have a dozen meteorologists in the map room and get a dozen different forecasts. It's a science but not so exact bec things change dramatically quickly. It doesn't hurt to be prepared. But it isn't good to get totally panicked and hysterical, either.
Look I've been in Baltimore my whole life yes sometimes there's nothing but hype and no action but on the other hand look at the blizzard of 09 we all thought it wouldn't happen but it did don't second guess anything plan for it and be smart and not errigant like Bryan there have respect and help thy neighbor these are times to stay strong and stay smart don't think you can take on Mother Nature and win whatever she decides to do she's gonna go you can't predict it you can only hope and pray for the best
