I think you would encounter some bad weather along the way on I-81. It would be ok to Staunton but then snow looks like it will be heavier south with 2-4 inches possible by this evening in Blacksburg. You may want to wait until tomorrow morning to play it safe.

Why are you all so panicky? ... closing schools, can't drive or fear of driving, running out and buying 5 months of food supplies and generally FREAKING-OUT even when there's a dusting of snow... you're all behaving like sheep... like herded cattle when this occurs... it's very funny to us northerners & mid-westerners that can effectively handle blizzard conditions without panic. It's a matter of using common sense, being confident in your driving skills, and keeping a cool head ... lol... gosh it's an inch or less for Pete's Sake!

It is the snow removal. They are not real good at getting the roads clear (Plowed, salted, etc) around here. My husband is from upstate NY he says they clean the roads off so much better up there. That driving here in the snow is much more of a headache.

I've lived in the DC area for most of my life, and those 3 things seem to be sadly lacking whenever there's so much as a cloud in the sky in winter! Pathetic.

Spray your hose on the street or better yet, get some ice cubes and throw them outside. Then you will have snow. Stop complaining!!!
