"Within 20 degrees or your money back!"
I have lived here for more than a decade and have only seen WJLA get the temperature wrong only 12 times (a ~0.3% error rate). Now the precipitation is another storay.
Saw a twitter blog with Bob Ryan and another guy saying the "hype" with the snow. I think Bob took it wrong. I think the other guy stated the previous hype on previous snow events were not justified. He is right. They were good on this past event..even though they were optimistic in their predictions, they were close. However, the past month their predictions have been way off, and I think a lot of the info they gave the public was a little too nerve wracking and a lite off.
Sheesh...all of this is an inexact science. Temperatures are fairly easy to predict but cold precipitation (snow, ice, sleet, etc) is virtually impossible to predict. Believe me, I would LOVE one good snow of 8 inches or more...that's all I want to hear, a forecast of 8 inches or more...ONCE this year...lol.
