Or just lake effect snow bands? Doesn't the true definition of a clipper involve an area of snow coming down or along a front? A northwest wind coming off of Lake Michigan and Erie with the snow developing from the lakes sounds like lake effect snow showers to me. Just saying.....and this is coming from a long time upstate NY "snow belt country" resident.

I'm not seeing any of these "clippers" come through the area the past day or two. Dry as a bone just outside the beltway in Virginia. Perhaps the air is too dry? Where is my dusting to 1" you guys keep saying?
