can handle snow. We can't. They're already up and running with only some areas still without power or closed schools. We'd be shut down for over a week if we got that. No big deal for them. I have a few friends that live in Boston and they said while it came down fast, they were able to clear it out pretty well and quickly. No big deal.
Since we can't handle even an inch of snow here, the meteorologists hype up every single event and play it as if it were going to hit here. I lived in Syracuse, NY for many years. You want to talk snow accumulation? That Nor'easter was nothin' compared to what upstate NY gets each winter! 3 feet overnight from lake effect snows is pretty common.
After looking at the map I see what has happened, a small strip of the ocean front has gotten what we would call a lot of snow. The rest of those states had a mild snow storm. If you check their area road cameras the roads are clear but costal hwys don't have cameras. Friends in the area say it snowed but it was no big deal because they live well off the coast. What a bunch of hype over weather that is really typical for the areas it hit.
