It's about time. I want it to at least seem that we had something in the way of a winter.
I do remember some memorable March storms in the area. A lot of times, they happen when there has not been a lot of snow in the winter and some years they do. 1964 had a terrible winter and a terrible March snowstorm on March 21-22. I was 10 and it dropped a foot of it. A year later we did not get much snow in the winter but we had 4 inches of snow on March 17 and 8 inches on March 20.
The Ash Wednesday storm, I lived in Annapolis, and I remember the tremendous tides and about 14 inches of snow. Other years recently with notable March snows, 1958, 1993 of course, 1999, and some in 2009. It would be great to have a snow day, we have not had one in over 2 years.
