Meteorologist/ Weather Producer

Candidate should have 3 years of experience in TV weather, be proficient with weather graphics systems (Weather Central and Barons preferred), able to multitask in order to update multiple platforms such as the web and social media, must have excellent writing ability to easily explain complex subject matter, be able to work under the pressure of deadlines, and have experience with everything from severe weather to snowstorm coverage. Additional experience with radio forecasting would be a plus.


-Responsibilities would be split between behind the scenes/producing work and on-air work

-Primary TV broadcasts include 5p-6:30p and 10p with the potential for additional coverage

-May occasionally work the entire NC8 afternoon/evening shift due to vacation, illness, etc

-Update the website, including blogs, social media and video forecasts

-Help produce for the weather segment on ABC 7 News at 11pm

-Occasionally will be asked to participate in public events for the station

Key Qualifications:


-Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology from a four-year college or university

-3 years of experience in broadcast meteorology
