ABC7/NewsChannel 8, the only 24-hour source for local news in the nation's capital, is seeking a Studio Technician to assist in the preparation of the studio for newscasts and other productions. If you have a television background and production experience in audio, teleprompter, camera, and lighting, this could be the perfect opportunity to get your "foot in the door" to television production. This position requires the ability to run TSM robotics, teleprompter, and audio console and technical directing. You will participate in the maintenance and clean-up of the studio and control rooms, as well as perform other duties as designated by the Production Supervisor.
The successful candidate will have a college degree in the television field or commensurate experience. Background in television production. College degree in television field or commensurate experience. Knowledge of Grass Valley 4000 Switcher and DVE Extreme a plus. The position also requires the ability to train and operate the News Transmission Control Room as Satellite Intake Operator. Production experience in audio, teleprompter, camera and lighting. Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to attend work regularly. Available to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays.
